Why do all six actors in Friends have a second last name Arquette?

Asked by LanceVance (645points) January 6th, 2008

I mean I know Courtney is married to David Arquette, but what connection does he have to the other 5 and to Friends at all?

..they don’t?

Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Courteney Cox [Arquette]

Take a look on the Imdb.

Jennifer Aniston
aka “Jennifer Aniston Pitt”
aka “Jennifer Aniston Arquette”

Matthew Perry
aka “Matthew L. Perry”
birth name “Matthew Langford Perry”
aka “Matthew Perry Arquette”

David Schwimmer
birth name “David Larry Schwimmer”
aka “David Schwimmer Arquette”

etc.

Interestingly enough on Jennifer’s page it does not show Arquette, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000098/, the rest do though. I do not know why, perhaps it’s some kind of joke? I’ve never heard any of them referred to by Arquette (except Courteney)

Edit.
found this online :
On the first episode of season 6, every name is followed by the word Arquette. This is because David and Courtney were married that summer, and she changed her name to “Courtney Cox Arquette”

Therefore on IMDB they all have aka’s with Arquette.

It surely shows Arquette to me on her page. Check the alternate names. I mean this questions has been interesting me for a while but didn’t know who to ask.

Apparently I just cannot read.

the reason you saw this is because it was the first episode following Courtney Cox-Arquette’s marriage and was done as a joke. You will notice that this was the only episode the names appeared this way.
