How do you know whether the rind on the cheese you are eating is edible?

Asked by lilgiraffe (286points) July 19th, 2009

Because technically speaking, one can still quite happily chew and swallow a thin layer of wax…

So, if one encounters a new type of cheese for the first time, how can one know?

if you don’t choke or spit out blood, it’s edible.

Here is an article detailing the various types of cheese, cheese rinds, and which ones you can eat and which you can’t.

Bon appetit.
