Is there a nice book manager for Facebook?

Asked by limeaide (1921points) August 4th, 2009

I’d like some app that is integrated with Facebook that will keep track of the books I’ve read and books I intend to read. It would also be great if I could keeps notes in there as well. Anybody know of anything like that for Facebook? If not does anyone know of a website that might track this sort of thing that may even be better. I could then link to my Facebook account. Thanks!

This is the one I use and I really like it: http://apps.facebook.com/imreading/. You can rate the books and review them as well.

I haven’t played much with the iRead applications, but I can tell you unequivocally that LibraryThing.com will suit your purposes and more. It totally expanded my horizons in terms of the data you can glean from cataloging books.

The iRead apps and Library thing are very good! Either one or all!

I use http://books.livingsocial.com on Facebook. If you’re searching for it in Facebook apps, it is called “Visual Bookshelf”. It has its problems (for instance, it doesn’t handle different versions of the same book nearly as well as LibraryThing or Goodreads.com), BUT is is well-integrated with Facebook, it has a lot of users on Facebook already, and the interface is very simple to use. As a heavy reader, I prefer Goodreads.com, but as a human being trying to share my reading experiences with my existing friends, I prefer Visual Bookshelf.
