Why does my vauxhall zafira make a squeeking noise?

my vauxhall zafira makes a horrible squeeking noise when i press the pedals,ive had it in the garage twice and they say its a common problem and they cant fix it is it really a common problem?

Probably you need a new chain. The one that goes from the sprocket between your pedals to the other sprocket fixed on the front axle.

Either that or you need a new helmet. One with ear muffs.
