How do I format initials?

Asked by doggywuv (1041points) August 26th, 2009

If my name was Adam Bee, would my initials be AB or A B? It’s a formality I’m not aware of.

Your monogram would be AB, your initials would be A. B.

Unless you are Alton Brown (of Good Eats and Food Network fame.)

He many times refers to himself and has his associates and cast members refer to him as AB. Pronounced ay bee not abb. But written as AB.

If you were publishing a document using your initials in place of your name (“The Meaning of Everything,” by A. B. Cee), it would be a matter of the publishing house’s style whether to write it with a space (A. B.) or not (A.B.). If it’s on the cover of your book, you should get to decide. When it’s just initials alone, the space is usually omitted. If you’re going to be referred to in news headlines by your initials (FDR, JFK), the periods will be dropped.
