Have you recently stumbled upon something delicious to drink or eat?

Asked by Zen (7748points) September 11th, 2009

Found anything unusual, especially tasty, or perhaps a new mix at your bar or tavern? Something exotic and delicioso? Include recipes if you can.

My recent discovery (I know it’s been around forever – I said MY recent discovery) is the aloe vera drink. It’s sort of gel-like, and feels like mushed worms in your mouth – it’s a little too sweet – but it tastes pretty good and is supposed to be very healthy. Thai, I think.

What’s yours?

Well I mixed some Aloe Vera juice and triple sec together. It was fruity goodness

Fuzzy Leprechaun, which I found at Pat O’Brien’s on CityWalk in Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida.

I don’t remember exactly what’s in it… I remember there’s peach Schnapp’s, and some blue stuff, something else, pineapple juice, and orange juice. I can’t get a result on google either because of my work filters. But don’t accept any recipes with Gatorade… BLECH!

I’ve just recently tried an aloe vera drink from Thailand. Lovely!

I said this in another thread: mango and peanut butter sandwich with a sprinkle of chili.
I have in on whole grain. Yummy!

Zen's avatar

@tinyfaery I refuse to believe you. That sounds a little Elvis to me.

tinyfaery's avatar

I don’t think Elvis ate mango.

Zen's avatar

It reminded me of the peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

Lurve.

Thai iced tea is delicious, even if it’s loaded with sugar.

Boba tea is also nummy, but not for everyone.

Zen's avatar

Whatsa Boba, Bubba?

@Zen Where do you live?

@Zen, here’s the Wikipedia site about it.

Delicious! Now I’m craving some, darnit!

Fresh carrot juice with a touch (about ten percent) fresh celery juice. Or, for even more juicy goodness, fresh pear and apple juice mixed fifty fifty. Put it in the freezer until it just gets slushy, and serve in a tall glass.

We just had sliced fresh peaches with cream, sugar and Cointreau for desert.

I just made some homemade croutons tonight out of some leftover hamburger buns from last weekend. I spread a mixture of butter, garlic salt, Italian seasoning and this cheese powder spice I got from a local spice shop on 12 large size hamburger buns, tore them up and baked them for about 2 hours on 300 degrees. They taste fabulous, way better than anything I’ve ever had in a restaurant or grocery store.

@Zen: it’s blue liquor, which I know leaves even less possibilities, but since I’m no bartender and I always ALWAYS forget what’s in my drinks when they tell me, lol…

Zen's avatar

@poofandmook Careful it’s not anti-freeze…

teh_kvlt_liberal's avatar

I recently created a waffle sandwich with peanut butter and jelly, a fried egg and spam. Shit was delicious

Zen's avatar

Don’t believe you @teh_kvlt_liberal. You’re just trying to get people to try disgusting things like some sick anonymous prank.

teh_kvlt_liberal's avatar

It’s not disgusting :(
It’s creative

Zen's avatar

creatively disgusting. the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

:P

Half an hour ago I devoured a medium “Barcelona”. Best salami pizza in Europe, and trust me, I’ve tried them all. Available daily at “Charley’s”, Bischofsweg, Dresden :)

it was actually one of the reasons I agreed to do this gig, knowing I could pop around the corner to that pizza place before the show :)

A Hibiscus drink, it’s rather pleasant. Chimay is a good interesting brew, it’s still beer even if it is made by Trappist monks. Hmm, vegan food, though it seems like such a fucking chore to be vegan, and then it food that looks like the foods your possibly politically oppossed to. Went to a vegetarian potluck, stopped my fast early for that. Soylent green, that’s excellent.

I roasted a pork shoulder in the oven at 200 degrees for about 10 hours (!) after scoring the skin, and rubbing the meat with garlic, adobo and toasted, ground cumin seeds. Then I shredded the meat, sauteed a couple of diced onions with a lot of garlic, added dried ground chile ancho and anaheim chile, then stirred in the shredded pork with a half cup of fresh apple cider. Really, really good on soft, hot corn tortillas.

@pdworkin damn you! Now you got me all drooling and I’m supposed to be on a diet! :D

Yes, during our vacation in Spain:

It’s great!

Zen's avatar

Thanks @mattbrowne. I hope you’ve got stock in Wiki. You really love that thing, eh? Have you read about not being able to just chnage around articles about people anymore?! I read something about being able to tool around with all the articles (to a point) but they want to change the access when it comes to profiles and bios so that every Joe Shmo can’t wander in and change around your bio at will.

mattbrowne's avatar

@Zen – Can’t wait for their IPO ;-) Seriously, when talking about Aquarius people think of astrology, music or comics. Do you get the drink in your country?

Zen's avatar

@mattbrowne Nope, it aint here. Wassit taste like?
