The depends on what you want. We’ve had a few, ranging from a cheap umbrella stroller, to a more expensive (McClaren) umbrella stroller (which my wife hates), to the SUV of strollers, the Bob. I suggest you go to a local baby store and check out a bunch of strollers to see what you like and fits your budget.

I notice that you asked a question about Palo Alto. In that case, you live near Lullaby Lane in San Bruno. They have tons of strollers to choose from. Go check them out and compare prices with online sites.

Less than 500… what? Dollars $? Euros €? Pesos $? Yen ¥?

I second @shilolo‘s suggestion to go to a store and physically try ‘em out.

Do you need one that can also carry a car seat?
Do you have more than one kid? Will you?
Does weight matter? Or folding size?
Do you want a cupholder? iPod holder? integrated speakers? a rain cover?

There’s a lot to choose from.

Stick to McClaren. The best stroller, for us, is above $500 – bugaboo gecko

I paid less than $300 for 2 Jeep strollers which all of us loved (the MP3 feature was awesome!)

Like @shilolo said, it depends on what you need to use it for. If you live in a city, you’ll want slim & light weight, if you live in rocky terrain, you’ll NEED rubber tires.

If you want to run, get a BOB. Any other jogger is going to crap out on you too soon. I love mine, and I’ve been using it since she was born (2 years ago) and she will be able to fit in it for a few more years.

Our first stroller was the Chicco Keyfit Travel System. It’s great with the infant bucket seat. It’s about $300 US. I didn’t like the stroller without the infant seat, but it worked for when I’d go for long walks, because it handled bumps nicely.
Then we moved on to the Combi I think that might be the one, they have different models. They’re affordable and lightweight, and easy to fold..which is what we needed.

For us, a BOB is just not affordable, so I’ve never used one. I’ve always wanted a Maclaren though.

I’ve always had Graco strollers and LOVED them. I just got a new double stroller by Graco for my new baby and it’s totally pimped out. I really like it. I agree with robmandu that it all depends on what features you really want.

I can’t say enough good stuff about the BOB. The REI website lists it at under $400.
It’s great for jogging and walking around town, it’s durable, a smooth ride, easy to maneuver, and has lots of storage space. BOB FTW.
