Is the Fluther topics cloud shaped like a jellyfish?

Asked by J0E (13172points) October 26th, 2009

Maybe I’m going insane but it looks like the topic cloud is shaped like an upside down jelly fish…

Am I going loony or do you see it too? Was this on purpose? Has this question already been asked a million times?

Looks like an upside down jellyfish to me!

It does look like an inverted jelly-fish. I cannot tell you, however, that your recognizing that rules out the possiblity that you are going loony. It is possible both are true.
This question has not been asked a million times, at least not on this site.

it’s just you.

It’s either a mushroom or a yurt (scipot in particular).

J0E's avatar

@eponymoushipster But it’s almost perfectly symmetrical.

If you couldn’t tell, jellyfish are kind of a reoccurring motif on Fluther. I don’t know if it was intentional to make the topics cloud look like an upside down jellyfish, but either way, it kind of goes along with the scheme of things.

Plus, jellyfish are awesome. Do you need a reason to make things shaped like them? I don’t think so.

@ParaParaYukiko Jellyfish are a reoccurring motif on Fluther? Where?

@eponymoushipster So you really don’t see it?

Jayne's avatar

It’s definitely not that shape for me, so either our browsers render it differently, or I call shenanigans.

@Jayne screenshot?

Here you go, my decidedly non-Jellyish cloud.

ParaParaYukiko's avatar

@J0E You’re kidding, right?

J0E's avatar

@ParaParaYukiko I’m being excruciatingly sarcastic, of course I realize there are jellyfish all over this site. That is why I was wondering if this was yet another one. But after looking at @Jayne‘s screenshot it seems to be a coincidence.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@J0E i don’t see it. i think, given the ubiquitous jellyfish motif on the site, you’re projecting a bit. it’s all good, though.

i gave you a GQ for using the word “loony” it actually made me laugh out loud.

Anyhow I think it’s kind of a stretch to see a jellyfish there but props for actually noticing that it could look like one. Plus your little drawing is cute lol.

emmalily's avatar

My browser renders the cloud in that shape as well, and I think it does look like a jelly.

janbb's avatar

@J0E Did it ever occur to you that it might only appear as a Jellyfish to “Robotcrushes?” Hence your confusion.

J0E's avatar

Hmmmm…maybe, but I doubt they would do that, who knows?

wundayatta's avatar

If you twist it up in a knot, and hang it from a Christmas tree, you could call it an ornament! ;-)

Hmmmm…. what if jellyfish ruled the world? Eh?

Allie's avatar

I kind of see it, but I’m pretty sure it’s just a coincidence.

it looks like it.. maybe it just happened that way, that would be cool haha. or maybe someone working for fluther just got bored. Oh and i just noticed that the spell check on here thinks that “fluther” is not a word and even though its not it shouldn’t be underline hah.

Honestly? The outline looks like a wide penis to me.

just sayin

I was hoping no one would realize that… ;)

Jonsblond beat me to it.

J0E's avatar

Funny story, at first I painted it pink and it really looked like a penis, so I decided to go with blue in hopes that just maybe it would go unnoticed. Nope.

@gailcalled vain keskiviikkoisin.
