Can any sports betters tell me how to read odds?

Asked by drClaw (4452points) October 30th, 2009

I myself am not much of a gambler, in fact I have only gambled a few times in my life. I am however a fight fanatic, I’ve even steeped into the ring/cage a few times.

One thing that has always eluded me is reading betting lines on fighters, not so much for the purpose of betting, instead so I can get an idea of what analysts are thinking. Can anyone explain how they work? Also where are they best places to find odds?

You can use the Pacquiao vs Cotto odds if you like (Pacquiao -250, Cotto +210) according to this site…
