Can you recommend any good bands?

Asked by Peinrikudo (235points) November 3rd, 2009

I really love bands with Latin choruses, choirs, orchestras and with female vocalists. A few examples would be Epica, Nightwish, Evanescence, Within Temptation, and the list goes on. Any recommendations?

Also, anything like Immediate Music, Two Steps from Hell or any kind of orchestra featured on movie trailers will do. =]

Try something new – go with Explosions in the Sky :)

I don’t have any female vocalist bands to suggest, but if you like Epica and Nightwish, you should check out Kamelot. You may also like Blind Guardian or Sonata Arctica, but those are a bit further disconnected from the style of Epica.

Also you may want to check out this list. It’s got a bunch of similar artists to Epica (You can query for similar artists to other bands too. Last.fm is a very cool music discovery site).

try here www.reverbnation.com you’ll be able to search for your fave types of music and can find some real diamonds. Lots of the artists are unsigned so you might even discover some music you haven’t heard yet. There are free downloads (and you can buy other tracks very inexpensively), it’s brilliant really. I’ve been listening to a really talented guy called damoneseven.

In the early 60’s, the biggest latin album was Edie Gorme and Los Panchos.
