Wow, I would think the doctor that prescribed your medicine would have told you or at least given you a list of things that you could eat with it.

Definitely no dairy. Sounds like you can’t eat anything with natural minerals in it. Apparently your doctor wants you to eat some heavily processed junk food!

Here’s the list of iron-rich foods. You need to ask your doctor about trace elements. Or call the office and talk with the nurse.

Don’t lick any pots or pans. Dark, leafy green vegetables have a lot of calcium, too.

Google <........>-rich foods.

lol. thanks. ya doc didn’t feel like telling me. all the pharmacist said was no dairy products or minerals or vitamins

@tocutetolive90: Call the office (you paid for the visit) and ask to speak to the nurse. Tell the receptionist your question. Most foods (except pop tarts and ramen) have vitamins and minerals.

@gailcalled Pop tarts don’t have vitamins? But there is strawberry filling on the inside, doesn’t that count as a serving of fruit? JK

@tocutetolive90 What type of meds are these?

Usually the list you provided above means you should not have the pill in your stomach along with a multi-vitamin, or a calcium pill or a milk product. It is normally safe for you to eat the same as you always have, just not directly when you take the pill.

Instead of calling the doc, either look the med up on here, or call the pharmacist and ask for specific directions on HOW to take the pills properly.

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities: Strawberry filling is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup so it is different than eating a bowl of fresh, unsprayed berries or a local, unsprayed apple.

Go to web md and look up the medication. Your dr or pharmacist should have been more helpful and its a shame that you have to go to site such as this to find out such important information.

@tocutetolive90 Here’s the info on Cipro for you in layman’s terms.

All you need to do is avoid antacids while on the pill, and do not eat dairy when you take the pill.

Hope you feel better quickly! ;0)
