Is slight LCD burnin completely perminant?

My stupid vista machine didn’t turn on the screen saver and now I can see the outlines of my lovely desktop icons. wonderful

i didn’t know lcd screens burned. . .

No, it’s not permanent.

On a Mac, you can use LCD Scrub (you may find the article useful even if you don’t have a Mac). I’m not sure if there’s an equivalent program for Windows Vista.

Apple has issued a recommendation on how to avoid image persistence in the first place.

LCD’s do not “burn in”, But sferik’s right there is a similar phenomenon called “Image Persistence”.

It can be remedied in most cases, though I have found some monitors that I have not been able to fix completely.
