Do you know a good voice recognition software?

Asked by Shemarq (1494points) December 18th, 2009

My son is currently in college. For a gift, I was thinking about getting him software that recognizes what you say and types it for you (for his reports, etc.). Have any of you ever used it? Any brands you would recommend?

Dragon Naturally Speaking is generally regarded as the industry leader.

I know it’s a longshot but if he has a Mac then MacSpeech Dictate is pro-level; it uses the Dragon Naturally Speaking engine as well.

My boyfriend has great luck with Dragon Dictate. Once you get it trained it is supposed to be great.
