What will shatter your patience?

Asked by The_Big_Nickle (97points) December 19th, 2009

We all have our limits, we all have a breaking point. For some of us it’s a noise, some of us it’s an action…What destroys your calm?

My patience is shattered when I see people intentionally doing things that are destructive or hurtful.

Mine depend on the day. Usually it’s people being obtuse. Or making that weird smacking sound with their lips- eek

oh I have an infinite list!!!
– people talking/making noise/eating kfc at the movie theater
– people talking on their cellphones in the middle of an important event this year was at the marine Ball and thank God it was a girl, otherwise I would have reacted in a very bad way :s
– bad service
– “I’m better than you attitude” I can prove that people wrong at any time
– Activist that doesn’t respect other people’s point of view
– People who can’t drive and make stupid turns and creates chaos in the middle of that red light river
– “I’m way too hot for you” attitude I can prove that you have the looks but not the brains at any time
– Other random stuff…

I know, I have a bad temper

Recently what’s been destroying my calm is people acting inappropriately towards my girlfriend at her job. I’m a recovering drug addict, so I’m not good with coping with my emotions… I’m used to just drowning them with drugs. It gets me so angry that I have to fight my initial instinct, which is violence (towards the instigator – NEVER towards my girlfriend).

Bills in the mail. Corporate office on the phone.

And all you ladies scratching at my door, all hours of the night.

strangely, impatience annoys me more than anything.
hate to see someone treated poorly because others couldn’t be bothered to try to understand them.

After 9/11, I felt we had to have a controled response.
After seeing Arab women singing and laughing afterwards, I wanted to Nuke Them All!

Waiting. The worst is people who are habitually late and never bother to call – this puts me in a very bad mood.

People who do not listen. I understand if you don’t hear me every now and then, but some people frequently miss things. Other people may only miss one thing, but they miss (ignore) it several times… this leads right into my last two:

Passive/Agressive behavior

Lack of respect toward our rules for our daughter. Usually it is because they simply want to do it their way and don’t care what we think. Do it once and then stop when I ask you to – ok. Keep doing it anyway and we have a problem.

Two things jump immediately to mind:

- People who interject or cut me off before I’ve finished speaking.
– People who ask for assistance with a task, but use my time trying to justify doing it their way instead of listening.

well for an impatient person like me..really anything if am not in the best of moods. From someone talking too loud to talking too much to, nonsensical stuff. I usually get what i want..yes a spoilt brat at that..my way or the highway or am going to go crazy again :D

Slowness! Oh my! I can’t stand people that walk thru the store real slow and stand right in the middle of an aisle. I will be trying to get around them and they think they are the only person in the world!

I also get irate almost every morning when I take my kids to school. People will sit right in the 1 minute loading zone until their kid gets in the school. This backs up traffic for a block and also makes it impossible to pull away from the curb if you are stuck behind the “waiter” because everyone behind you is pulling around and pissed off too! Seriously in the 20 feet from the car to the school no one is going to abduct your damn brat. (I have a lot of pent up anger about this situation-ive been dealing with it for five years!)

Complainers. People who complain just to be complaining. They aren’t willing to do anything constructive about whatever it is they enjoy complaining about.
