If you were going to be snowed in at home for the weekend, what foods would you want to have and what entertainment/activities would you want?

Asked by jca (36062points) December 27th, 2009

for me, it would be a supply of Diet Coke, for dinner, some steak or chicken. The “icing on the cake” would be some good dessert, like cake or pastries. plus i would need snack foods and probably bagels and tea for breakfast. for entertainment, the New York Times Sunday edition, magazines, TV and the computer, plus of course, the phone.

That is, if i were home alone. If i were with someone elsei would want it to be someone i’m attracted to and we could add some sex to the mix!!

Frozen burritos, whiskey, cigarettes, Gator Ade. classical CDs, firewood and a good book. Assuming that I don’t waste all my time on Fluther as I usually do.

According to the grocery store shelves it milk and toilet paper. why these two go together I will never understand. Lots of lactose intolerant masochists?

I want a radio with weather band, a guitar and Hubbs for fun.
Food I want bread and cheese. A miracle to get hot coffee would be best for the safety of everyone involved.

Good coffee, crackers with cheese, sausage and honey mustard and my homemade peanut butter cookies.

For entertainment I would want to watch a marathon of some sort on television, a jigsaw puzzle, and a good sled.

I would want the stuff to make some chili and cinnamon rolls. Maybe homemade vegetable soup too.I would have to have a supply of Diet Dr. Pepper. Santa brought an Xbox for Christmas so maybe a couple new games for the kids to play, some yarn for me to knit with and a movie for the hubby and I to watch. Sounds like a good weekend to me.

Frozen pizza, m&ms, popcorn, and dvd’s.
I recently bought a retirement house in the mountains, and I can’t wait for the first time we are snowed in!

I can’t even imagine. It’s never happened to me. I’d be too busy freaking out to relax.

Lots of movies of all kinds because I never know what I’m in the mood to watch until I actually want to watch it. Lots of hot chocolate and hot apple cider to keep me warm. An electric blanket. I’m a Californian and not used to anything below about 40 degrees F and if I were to be snowed in I’d probably freeze my ass off. I’d get tons of chick magazines to flip through. Books full of brain puzzles because I really like those. When it comes to food.. los of cereal and oatmeal. Stuff to make my tasty, tasty turkey and cranberry sandwich with. Muffins and bagels with cream cheese. Corn chowder and split pea soups.

Since I will be hunkered down with my honey we will need lots of comfort foods, finger food stuff that doesn’t take a lot of preparation. Oh yeah…lots of pop-rocks and wheat beer!

I have a generator so I would have a little power. But it would be for the heaters and the coffee pot. I would not need anything else, as I have about 6–12 week supply of staples in the house at all times.

For entertainment I would probably go sit in the ice house and fish.
