If you’re using Firefox, the Ubiquity extension has this capability.

I second the google translator nomintion. It’s very accurate from my experience.

I use it for Spanish class assignments…she never knows the difference…shhh

My experience with translation services from Google or Yahoo has not been that great. I just uploaded a page I wrote in Japanese to Google and its translation is pretty inadequate and confused.

You may be able to get the gist of your page, but it will probably take some effort.

If you need accurate and sensible, you need a human. Web translations are good only for fast and free results.

I have seen some hilarious pictures of business signs based on web translation, like a restaurant named “404 Not Found”.

I agree…..on the confused translations! Having travelled to Japan and Korea and China…I know that things get a little dicey in translation.

I went ahead and used Google….and it does give me the basic information I need….so thanks to all of you…and I agree a human would be best.

Go to a university that offers a Japanese or Asian Studies major, and ask for a professor who could help you out. Be prepared to slip him a little cash for his trouble.

Professional translators are supposed to translate back to their native language, not the other way around, so your first choice would be a translator whose native language is English.
