How can I find an employment lawyer with experience in federal agency employment issues?

Asked by marylucky34 (8points) January 26th, 2010

How can I find an employment lawyer with experience in federal agency employment issues? Are there lawyers who specialize in particular agencies? I’m in a rural area. Is it better to hire an attorney from the nearest large city (a X XXXX XXXXX away and in a neighboring state) or an attorney in DC who has experience with the federal agency?

Hire an attorney licensed to practice in the state in which your lawsuit is filed. to find such an attorney, visit your local library and ask the libriarian for the out of state book of lawyers.

Make sure the lawyer does labor law, they sometimes have specialties listed in yellow pages.

Most law schools have Clinics that give legal help. The students are supervised by attorneys and the work they do is wonderful and usually very inexpensive. My boyfriend is a 3rd year law student and worked in the clinic during his 2nd year. Great place to start at least.
