Do you ever feel like you're the first to do something, then you see it somewhere else and think "Wow,I'm not the only one!"?

Asked by CharlieGirl (438points) February 24th, 2010

like when you invent something,or say something, and think that it’s original, but come to find out,it’s not,and someone’s gotten there before you.Do you think that they had it first,or that somehow it spread to other people and was copied?

As long as it isn’t a new Girlfriend.

(There is very little that is genuinely new – invariably someone has done it before. )

All the time. There is nothing new under the sun.

Sometimes I think of ideas completely on my own, with no outside influence, and then I go do some research on the internet and find that someone else is doing the same thing. Recently, I designed an item to sell in my online shop. After I made it and posted it with a description, I searched the other online shops and found someone who made the same item, wrote an almost identical description and had a similar first name and the same last name as me. Very, very weird.

I don’t know if I am the first with my ideas, but I have had people directly copy my artwork and I am not alright with that.Lazy b@$t@rd$.

I used to think that about quite a few things until I discovered the internet! For example (before anyone thinks I am talking about anything rude!!!) there is a few singers who I love that no one in my every day has ever heard of but when I check them out online they have loads of fans!
