If they could (or would) go back and award a special academy award for best picture, what movie do you think should have won the coveted award?

I was just thinking of, “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.”

What’s Eating Gilbert Grape is a fantastic choice. I watched it for Johnny Depp but was, instead, absolutely stunned by Leonardo DiCaprio and touched by Darlene Cates.
My choice is The General. It was made before The Academy Awards (I think) and Buster Keaton deserves recognition for creating one of the most stunning films in history.
Without question its Blazing Saddles. Genius, pure genius.
To Kill a Mockingbird deserves another chance.
