Am I overreacting to this conversation I found on Facebook?

Asked by evry1luvzaazngrl (268points) October 19th, 2010

I know I’m just reacting off of what I just saw. It just really bothers me to hear two girls talking about streaking and mentioning my bf’s name in it. I changed the names but my bf is “Murray”

Hughes: I’m moving to SD in May. So you guys should come visit me too. Or I go up there.? Yeah?! :D let’s go streaking!

South: **** yea!! ill come 2 sandiego 2 go streaking! after a few drinks of course haha :D

Hughes: Well don’t drink and drive!!! Come to me and my mans place when we move down the and then we will streak in the dark on the beach!

South: d no drinking and driving…just drinking and runnin naked! woo hoooo!
super duper downskies. :) murray can come too! but he definitely can’t come streaking. ewwww haha :p

Hughes: Yeah cuz he’s too tall for this event. It should be girls only. Or else my babe might wanna get all frisky-like lol! Same with murray. And your fiancewouldn’t like that.

South: thats definitely not the one ya want. haha.

should I ask him why the heck were they talking about streaking and going to the beach naked? Some people say it sounds like joking but it doesn’t to me. Why would they even joke about my bf being there for their ‘streaking’...why him?

Are these friends of yours? Friends of “Murray’s?” That has a lot of weight on the scenario.

friends of his they’re all in army

Sounds like harmless camaraderie to me.

I guess I’m just mad that they mentioned he would get frisky because they’re naked…. not something I want to hear.

Understandable, but I’m assuming they have been through training together. They most likely have a unique friendship that forms when you spend all of your time with the same people, literally down in the mud, at your worst. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

All I know, is I want to take a shotgun, and just kill everyone in this story.

All i can say is dont worry about it, you are probably just over reacting, and these people in the story sound like morons, so i would not take anything they say too seriously, chances are they open their mouth without turning on the brain quite a bit.

Take a shower, meditate…do something nice for him…and forget about it. It sounds harmless to me.

Do you have a lot of time on your hands?

evry1luvzaazngrl's avatar

yes, why yes I do lol. I joked to my bf “Hey, if you ever wanna go streaking and get frisky you better do it with me..” and he said “figures u’d get jealous and notice that” haha i tried to make it sounds like a joke rather than be mean to him. It kinda worked…I got to say what I wanted without sounding too mean

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

@evry1luvzaazngrl it is probably not good that he assumed you would get jealous. You can mask it as a joke, but have you considered that you might actually have an issue with excessive jealousy?

Phew, glad you got this straightened out!

I’m about convinced that Facebook has more bad elements than good ones due to stories like this one. I would not read anything into it… Just ask him. Hear from him, not Facebook!

I think the fact that they said ewww about the idea of him streaking says enough right there. To me, it sounds like they are friends of his and they are joking around. Nothing I would be worried about.

In my humble opinionl, overreacting to anything on a social media site is a foolish waste of time and energy. Use your emotions with the live people all around you.
