Is anyone else having trouble with long loading time on Fluther?

I thought maybe it was my Iphone, but it is still loading slow on my laptop. Glad I’m not alone.

[Mod Speculates:] There has been a renewed interest in achieving the “Cake in the Frizzer” award. Opening up those huge old threads puts a big load on the servers. It is likely causing the slow load times.

When folks finish their quests things will get back to normal. :D

It’s pretty slow here too. I just click whatever link I want again, a few seconds after I click the first time. If that makes sense.

Oh it was not slow for me yesterday. We dropped a note for support. They should be looking into it.

@YARNLADY It’s been slow for me today & yesterday to. I just happened to see your question…otherwise I was going to go back to attempting to clean my hard drive again today. I’ve cleaned my cookies, rebooted, cleaned my hard drive, rebooted…NOPE it’s Fluther for me.

I was just going to give up and come back later but if this has been going on for a couple of days, they’re going to start losing people fast if this doesn’t get fixed.

I heard that all IT devices were taking a day off in honor or the last flight of the Discovery, but that was two days ago.

Correction, the final flight ended today – so that explains it.

It seems better now.

It is still slow for me and it says @YARNLADY asked this question 10 hours ago. I thought it was just my local server but now that I think about it, only Fluther is slow everything else is fast as usual.

You’re all just noticing this? For the past month or so it’s been variably slow for me. It speeds up a bit, slows down a lot, and everywhere in between. It’s also timed out when bringing up the page. This has been going on, I guess, for almost a month now.

It seemed a bit better after that down time a few days ago, but yesterday was kind of draggy.

I actually don’t mind it when Floofy bogs down, gives me time to get my work done and play my harmonica.

@Cruiser WOW… you play the harmonica?,,, neat. : )

I also don’t mind it when fluther is slow. I figure if people want to be here badly enough, they will deal with the slowness as they would with anything else that’s mildly irritating- with a little patience, and extra coffee and chocolate.

Yesterday (the 9th) was pretty bad. Today so far seems a little better. Let’s hope it stays that way.
