[NSFW] If you like men, which natural male scents do you like and which do you loathe?

Asked by ETpro (34605points) June 18th, 2011

I picked on the scent of woman yesterday. But women certainly aren’t unique among humanity in having their own characteristic odors. So today, it’s men’s turn in the barrel.

Of course nobody likes the smell of a body (male or female) when it’s been too long without bathing. I’m talking about the relative clean body here, and the natural scents—not those of chemicals we pour on to cover nature’s work. Each man has his own body odor when he breaks a sweat in the gym. Men’s genitals aren’t as strongly scented as women’s, but they do have a scent that’s characteristically male yet unique to each man. And of course, when a man ejaculates, his cum has a unique odor as well. If you happen to like men, which smells appeal to you, and which are mildly off-putting or outright revolting? How do you describe each?

The male scents I prefer come from soap and cologne – sorry, if that’s boring. Day old sweat doesn’t bother me. It can smell kind of manly…but that’s about it..I won’t get into describing the scents I don’t like.

When I like a guy, I tend to like everything about the way he smells.
If I don’t like the way a guy smells, then he won’t be my guy for long.

Yes, soaps and colognes, but, some men have great, musky smelling sweat. Not many, but, I have come across a few that didn’t bother me a bit, infact, it was a turn on.

Truthfully?

Nothing smells better to me than a sweaty horse, haha

Maybe I just didn’t ride those men hard enough. lol

A little Alfalfa breath and a nice lather does me in every time. ;-)

I find no yucky smells about my guy’s body if he’s recently bathed.

Men smell great after a nice cleansing shower, in fact I love being in the shower soaping my guy up when I happen to be dating someone. I love to get clean and dirty together.

My husband worked in a lumber yard when we were first together and he smelled wonderfully woody (no pun intended) when he came home.

I love it when my guy smells like the smoke from BBQ’ing lamb, a little bit of gun oil/gunsmoke and his Gucci cologne.

I hate cologne. I like the smell of a little bit of my boyfriends BO….not when he hasn’t showered for 6 days but when it’s been a day and he just smells like him.

I love the smell of my husband when he has been working in the yard and comes in a bit sweaty. I also love how he smells after he has showered and is starting his day. I think it is hard to describe the ‘scent’ we may respond to because I suspect there are elements in our SO’s aroma that is not identifiable but nonetheless is an attractant. The pheromones they give off for instance.

I prefer the scent of a freshly showered man, preferably one who has brushed his teeth recently. I don’t care for BO or bad breath or stinky foot smell at all! I don’t think I’d like those scents on women either. Those things might be natural, but so is dog doo and I don’t like the smell of that either.

@sarahtalkpretty Soap and cologne were excluded, but you did kick in with a =t least one natural scnet. Thansk.

@KatetheGreat Ha! Inside joke, indeed. I can see how it would have its tittilating factor. It’[s just so deliciously naughty.

@worriedguy Sorry, the output of chemical factories, even the infamous Hooker Chemical Co. on Love Canal, are excluded. I’m looking for natural human body scents here.

@athenasgriffin You yield to the chemistry of love. Good for you.

@Coloma I’ve noticed the wide variations as well. And horses really are earthy, vital smelling creatures, which I guess makes horsemen smell good too so long as their own body smells aren’t the acrid type that wipe everything else out and empty rooms ful of people.

@Neizvestnaya That’s great. Makes being lovers and even friends so much easier.

@creative1 Shower together and get squeaky clean. sensualize together till sticky wet and dirty. Repeat the two actions to exhaustion. Now there’s a perscription of FUN.

@janbb So his woody smell turned you on, and you in turn turned his woody on. :-)

@Neizvestnaya Wow, that’s a heady mixture.

@FutureMemory Ha! She need to get them sweating like a horse, lather and all.

@deni I agree. The natural sell of a lover’s relatively clean body beats perfume and cologne any day.

@QueenOfNowhere Thanks, me too.

@Bellatrix I agree. Whether or not scientists have neen able to pinpoint them yet, I am sure the natural scents of man and woman includes sex oheremones.

@Kardamom Definitely clean teeth. I have never heard of anyone who found halatosis attractive.

I don’t really like any “natural” male smell.

Yes, teeth and breath are biggies…I am very ‘attached’ to my teeth. :-D
