Which parts of the design of planet Earth would you like to change?

Asked by mazingerz88 (28851points) July 22nd, 2011

Your answer does not have to be always within logic or scientific possibility. I’m interested in answers that may surprise and intrigue me at the same time.

Would you like that the whole planet be all rainforests and no deserts? Do you envision that instead of continents, we have billions of small islands to inhabit so everyone would have an ocean view?

Natural resources would be more evenly distrubuted.

The human parts.

I wish it would simply rain in Kansas.

There would be 196 identical copies, so every country could rule the world.

I’d like it to be infinite in size, too big to be spoiled.

It’d be nice to have the sun pointing towards England Town once in a while.

I’d run tubes through it in a myriad of places to energy could be extracted reliably from volcanoes and lava. The current andom “blowing its top” is not conducive to efficient energy harvesting.

Earth is a wonderful paradise. It is perfect the way it is.

That there’ll be actual pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

Maybe less people. A lot less people in fact….. Keep the technology but in terms of human population, send it back a few millennia or ten, fifty :-/
I think the population of England fifty thousand years ago was about twenty, that’d do me.
More trees, less people overall……

I’d want a faucet so we could turn off the rain in parts of the world that got more than enough of it. Flooding sucks.

If I were designing the world from scratch, I’d start with the weather. It would rain just enough every night (and maybe during the day once a month or so, for the storm lovers) to make water problems non-existent. A reliable, predictable amount of rain, everywhere. All of the days would be sunny, about 70 degrees F, with high fluffy clouds.

Don’t forget the thunder at night, guys….

I would magically wave a wand and have better and more sustainable ways to dispose of trash and more people would care about the environment and keep Earth pretty.
I get really upset when I go to any park, not just state or federal parks, and see the most blatant forms of littering—dirty diapers, beer bottles, old kegs, tires, appliances, etc. It’s also disappointing to see pictures of other countries where towns are just covered with litter and kids are playing in the middle of that. Magic wand aside, we need a real solution.

More fresh water easily available. No one deserves to go thirsty.

linguaphile's avatar

@athenasgriffin You provide the water, I clean up the trash- so there’s no trash in your fresh water :)

For fun, I’ll also make teleportation possible and eliminate the need to pay through the nose and arse for plane tickets.

Oh, distributed* lol.

I’d like there to be airborne organisms that scarfed up on greenhouse gases, such as CO2 and methane.

I’d like to see a more even distribution of weather, so that people in the UK could occasionally see the sun, people in the midwest could get some relief from the heat, and it would be my pleasure to get any of your summer rain that you don’t want. ;-)

athenasgriffin's avatar

@linguaphile Great plan! We’ll get @Brian1946 in on the plan so we get to breath clean, cool air, too.

Erase human life, so annoying and pointless.

athenasgriffin's avatar

@King_Pariah So you are annoying and pointless?

It should have come with a Beanstalk or, better yet, a Kane Band .
