Does your choice of web browser say anything about you?

Asked by rOs (3470 points ) July 29th, 2011

This amusing survey piqued my curiosity.

Do you use the old standards, or something fancy? What are the pros and cons? Do you care?

I was using Firefox until I got sick of all the bells and whistles. I switched to Google Chrome because it is simple and intuitive.

I just think everyone knows by now that Internet explorer sucks. I switched to Firefox because I believed (as well as others) it was the best at that time years ago. Their additional features and adds-ons were/are great.

I have not used Opera or Chrome yet, though.

I love Puccini, Verdi and female talkshow hosts.

Mine says something like: “Microsoft can take a flying leap off a short pier!”

Google Chrome

“I WANT IT NOW!”

@poisonedantidote do they not have that on your planet?

I hate to add insult to injury, but I’m also stoked for the launch of Fiber in KC!

I use Firefox since Firebug is really essential to me.

I love Opera. Like a Cunard cruiser, she is the very image of luxury and elegance. There are tools for everything, including minimal-effort browsing. She’s also very, very resource-intensive, and my old box just isn’t up to the task of running Opera AND a bunch of other things.
So I use Firefox for most of my browsing.
Chrome is okay. It’s a Google product, and I’m a bit wary of Google in general.

Yes, but probably not what you think.

Going back to FF feels like using IE did when I was a FF user. Chrome has spoiled me.

I use Firefox because Chrome doesn’t work as well as people make it seem and it’s overrated as shit. That makes me even smarter because I don’t get sucked in by the hype :)

And users of the more obscure Camino and Opera browsers, as well as those using Explorer with Chrome Frame (a plug-in designed to let users view emerging HTML5 content), had what AptiQuaint called “exceptionally higher” IQ levels.

LOl. I use Opera because it comes with a lot of plugins already installed [which are in the base program]. I don’t really care if the survey is right and I have a low IQ :D I don’t give a F about what they talk there .. I was born not to give a .. damn

Anyway Opera is the best for me, it suits my needs.

I use Chrome. It feels less cluttered than the other browsers.

I use Firefox. I’m not very computer-savvy, so I haven’t looked for anything new as Firefox works pretty well for me. I don’t use a lot of add-ons and could easily do without the few that I have. I used to use Flock, which is a weird browser that seems to be FF but blue…that didn’t last long, as FF is way better.
I have Chrome on this computer, which my mother’s boyfriend uses, but it makes me nervous. I never use it.
