Can you help pray for my dog?

Asked by dreamwolf (3163points) August 22nd, 2011

He was just diagnosed with Parvo, and it would be much appreciated if we could get some positives and prayers for him. His name is OB. Thank you.

Lord, Put a healing hand on OB. Comfort his family who love him. Amen.

Aww. A very sweet looking dog. My dog is like my second child, I am guessing yours is pretty special too. My thoughts and prayers are with you both xxxx

@dreamwolf – I hope your pup gets well. Have you taken him to the vet? If he has bad diarrhea see if you can get him to drink some gatorade, that might help him a little. Let us know how he goes.

Sure thing. May you find some relief too.

Yes, for you and OB.

Healing and transforming God, your love knows no boundaries, and in your sight every life is precious; look with compassion on OB, and make us your agents of healing in a broken world. Amen.

In spite many believing prayer to equate to wishes to the easter Bunny I know better. Ssince Christ is the ultimate physician, it also makes Him the ultimate vet. So, you have my prayers sent to the untimate vet the Lord of Lords, Jesus on behalf of OB.

Hello everyone. It brings me great pleasure to tell you all. OB is now apart of the 10% survival club of Parvo :D Thanks all! His sickness was caught really early on. He was brought to the vet a couple times. I believe the fact that he was cared for at home helped greatly. There was a couple rough days, I’d say night 3, and 4 were the worst. He was lethargic, vomiting, and diaherrea everywhere. Now on about day 7–8 he has strength and running around eating again, greeting us at the door! So amazing, is the power of God. He was even taught how to pray. Well he has to maintain this for two weeks to update his shots, and hopefully he has full immunity to parvo of the intestines now.

That is good news @dreamwolf, I am happy for you and your pup.

@dreamwolf So amazing, is the power of God. To those who cannot fathom the power of the Lord we will just allow them to believe it was medicine or science, but we know better. <wink>

:)) I’m happier now.

update @dreamwolf.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! All I could think was how I would feel if it happened to my pup. It made me read up on Parvo and think of when is the next time he needed to be immunized. I think in the back of my mind I thought he would be ok because he has to go out on a leash so sometimes I was lazy about making sure he got his shots on time. Now I realize how easy it is for him to go. Luckily he is immunized but I certainly won’t take his vaccinations for granted any more and make sure he gets it on time next time.

I am so relieved and happy for OB and you.

I just found this and want to say that OB is very, very cute. I’m glad he is better.

dreamwolf's avatar

@chyna Thanks! You know its strange. Of the litter he was born into, he was the largest one. Does that still account for as runt? haha.
