Why not have lurve block parties?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) December 11th, 2011

Seeing that lurve comes in threes, sometimes more. Why not just pick a designated day of the week, combine all the parties into one big mega block party? Then everyone who got upped is there in one location and no one gets missed or falls through the cracks.

Dude, why do you care so much about freaking lurve?

augustlan's avatar

I think it would be easier for someone to get missed that way. I like it just the way it is.

@bob Dude, why do you care so much about freaking lurve? Dude, don’t get ahead of the game. I could are less, it is not MY lurve. The hiatus, lurve, lurve, lurve, hiatus, hiatus thing makes it hard to keep up, certainly if you are not here everyday.

@Hypocrisy_Central as @augustlan points out, someone would get left out and it most likely would be someone like you or me. Why ask for trouble or heartbreak?

Time to dust off an old avatar <———

Because the Community Feed doesn’t save the plateau ascensions in a triplex buffer. It displays them on an individual basis as they’re reached, rather than waiting for them to accumulate in a “block party” format.

Apparently the CF displays the ascensions for a few days so that they occasionally accumulate, but the oldest ascension could eventually expire from the CF buffer before it was acknowledged, if time was spent waiting for the third one to appear.

Why would we have one party when we can have three?

I completely agree with Zen on this lurve craze, and I admire him for the constant name changing to reject accumulated lurve.

however, there are times, like now, that are fustraiting because I can’t find his new name

@filmfann Zen’s taking a break, but he’ll be back soon. With the same name I think!

I agree with @augustlan‘s first answer. You’re more likely to feel left out if it’s just a block party and not a party specifically for you.

@FutureMemory Lmao that’s hilarious, given that I’ve seen that avatar before you modified it. XD

@Hypocrisy_Central That would make it all formal and cold. So…impersonal. Plus the weekly thread would get really big if several people had their larvae party goin on in it. :/ To me, it would seem more like going to collect welfare and having to wait for like two hours along with a buncha other people. If that makes any sense. XD

@Symbeline“larvae party” HAR!!!

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

WTH? The more parties, the more pancakes and nekked dancin’! Why are you complaining? DON’T RUIN IT, MAN!!!

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

@Symbeline Psst…...Get ready to run; when I made the “Larvae”, “lurve” mistake several Jellies came after me with loafs of stale French bread to pummel me into grammatical alignment and spelling.

Hmm, I want to have my own party. I think users feel more nicer if they have their own parties, it feels a tad bit more personal. (as personal you can get on the internet…)

I love you. I really do.

A day with no Future, is a day without sunshine ;-P

Because it’s like birthdays, no one wants to share their special day. Each jelly deserves their individual party and kudos.

Berserker's avatar

@Hypocrisy_Central I hear that. However I did it on purpose. The larvae be eternal, ya know? If anyone tries to align me, someone’s gonna have to call the cops. :D

I am a banana.

Berserker's avatar

Oooh Rooooooxane, you don’t have to be a banana!

All of the neocons and their friends would create regular ‘rave parties’ on sodahead (most of these were people that I disliked, putting it mildly) so no I’m not a big fan of this. I’m on here to debate, discuss or help others out when I can, not win popularity contests, post politically correct answers or to attain lurve. If in the process that someone found my response/s interesting or helpful, and I receive lurve or a thank you for this, than all the better I suppose. I would rather receive lurve doing what I’ve been doing all along on here.
