What 90s (or maybe 80s) cartoon is this toy from?

Asked by simone54 (7629points) March 6th, 2013

My girlfriend found this dragon toy in her yard today. She is sure that it was her’s from when she was little but we can’t figure out what it’s from. Any ideas?

Looks to me like the crock from Pogo.

Could be the crock from Peter Pan.

That’s what I thought @rojo but it’s not.

Sure looks like Albert the Alligator to me.

Could it be Magellan from Eureeka’s Castle?

Since it seems to be a single moulded peice of plastic, no moving parts, yet relatively large. I’m going to guess this is a cheap knockoff toy that was meant to resemble other licensed characters, and was probably found in the toy aisle of a drug store.

My first thought was eureeka’s castle, though.

It looks like the crocodile from Peter Pan, if its holding a knife and fork I’m pretty sure it is from Peter Pan because he licks his lips and gets out a knife and fork before he eats Captain Hook.

It looks like a character from the PBS children’s show “Dragon Tails”

it’s dragon tales my daughter still has her’s

Sorry it’s not Dragon Tales. That show is like 10 years old. This toy is a least 20.

That and it doesn’t look like any of them.

@simone54, it looks like a toy from a fast food kids meal, are there any markings on the bottom?

hearkat's avatar

It doesn’t quite look like Dudley the Dragon.

Here’s a list from wiki – maybe you’ll recognize the name of the program: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dragons_in_film_and_television

simone54's avatar

@hearkat Yeah, I think it might some like that. From Arby’s or something.

@simone54: My son grew up in the early 90s and most of his kids’ meal toys had copyright information molded onto the bottom. Has your friend looked closely for any markings?

Also, did you or your friend go through the Wikipedia list I linked to?

@hearkat All it says is “Made in China”. So all we need to do it find a list of all the plastic toys made in China in the last 20 years.

That link was dead.
