Anyone know of a banking app that allows syncing between my Mac and Android phone (details below)

Asked by Pachy (18610points) March 13th, 2013

I have iBank on my Mac and was accustomed to being able to sync the desktop and mobile versions via my company iPhone. However, I recently switched to an Android phone, for which iBank doesn’t make a mobile app (grrrrrrr!). Can anyone suggest an app that will allow me to sync my accounts between my Mac and Samsung phone besides Quicken (which I don’t like). I’ve done lots of research online but nothing I’ve found fits my needs.

I’m not familiar with iBank, but have you ever used Mint? There’s an Android app for it as well. It’s owned by Intuit.

I love mint.com . I am using it on a PC and my android. I don’t know anything about Mac, and I refuse to buy anything that starts with i, for this very reason. Apple products are engineered to only work with Apple products. It’s a conspiracy.

I hate to say it, but @Skaggfacemutt is correct; Apple is almost proud of their incompatibility. Apple works with Apple, and only Apple. Nothing else will work with Apple very well, if at all. The iDevices are a bit more compatible with non-Apple devices than a Mac, but Macs are restricted to walking in their own walled garden, their only contact with the outside world being occasional visits from an iDevice.

Mint is one of the few cross-platform programs of it’s kind, but there is no Mac version; only iOS and Android. If you want something that will work on a Mac then you are restricted to things that will not run on anything else (except possibly iDevices).
