I have lived happily without meat for years (with one misguided foray into the deli for a corned beef sandwich two months ago…a big mistake.)

Oatmeal
Fresh berries
Fresh tomatoes

Luckily what I eat the most of is only three ingredients.

Pasta, butter, and Parmesan cheese.

@gailcalled I exempted meat because I wanted to stick to 3 ingredients. I didn’t want to leave butter off my list.

Then it’s a tie between fresh summer tomatoes and fresh berries.

@Mimishu1995 – What snack ingredient?

Mimishu1995's avatar

@tedibear Sorry, I read the title wrong. I thought it was the food, not the ingredient.

Edit: Snack Potatoes chips

Eh, none I eat pretty much everything. Lately I’ve been having pasta a lot. Don’t have much money, noodles and sauce don’t cost much and make good meals. I will also say bread, it’s a part of a lot of my meals. And cheese. A bit pricey, but it’s the only pricey thing I can permit myself, and it’s good with a lot of things, or just on its own.

Um where do I start???? Panic.. berries, monounsaturated fats, colorful vegetables…. That counts as almost three… Right… If I could add a fourth it would be assorted rice.

Bread

And may I substitute eggs for the meat?

Milk
Broccoli
Squash

I got so bad with the squash for a bit that my friends would jokingly ask what kind of squash I had with dinner. Sadly, I always had an answer for them.

@GloPro Squash rocks! One half of my garden is devoted to butternut, winter and zucchini squash with one pumpkin plant. IMO no garden is complete without a pumpkin patch.

Tomatoes, peppers and onions. Dairy products, pasta and potatoes are pretty close too.
