Am I mistaken, or is there a deluge of exceptional writing in current television programming?

I mean we’ve been dabbling with the Roku, and the amount of quality stuff out there seems almost frightening.

Have you started watching British TV?

There does appear to be a deluge of exceptionally good television around. I watch things later on DVD, or sometimes On Demand. John’s question seems apt, if I am totally honest, I much, much prefer British TV to the American fare. Have you watched The Night Manager, which has just screened in the UK, US and NZ very recently. It’s a glorious feast.

Not yet. I’ll check it out

@Adagio :: I think having series that are 6–8 episodes helps a lot. Netflix makes short shows too and they are generally far better than the 26 episode monsters that get aired on ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox and so on.

I have The Night Manager downloaded but haven’t gotten to it yet. I have a healthy backlog of things to work through.
