If Trump got the nomination would it be easier to swallow for some if Warren Buffet was his running mate?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) May 23rd, 2016

Say Trump is a lock to get the nomination and announce he chooses Warren Buffet as a running mate, and Buffet accepted. Does that make a Trump nomination more palatable?

The conservatives would go ‘round the bend if that happened.

He could make Jesus Christ his running mate but, if people were smart, it still wouldn’t help.

Not worth considering.

Buffet is a centrist republican bordering on centrist democrat. He was a great friend of Bill Clinton 20 years ago. As @JLeslie said, the republicans and the fundamentalists would fry him. (To say nothing of the 35+ year affair with a woman not his wife)

It ain’t going to happen.

Re: the affair. Are you referring to Buffet or to Trump?

Nope. Having a very aged Buffett as #2 would not make Trump more palatable, and Buffett is not going to hang out in the Senate his next four years.

From a business and economics perspective, Buffett thinks Trump is an idiot. Trump would never be poorer than his VP choice.

There is no running mate known who can lend Trump an air of sensible legitimacy. The only guarantee accompanying such a pairing would be the immediate and irreparable hole in Buffet’s standing as a man of sound judgement.

No running mate on earth is going to make Trump remotely palatable to the national electorate.

No. And contrary to what some people believe, we don’t need businessmen running the country.
