Aliens is what i’ll remember him best for.
“How’d ya get outta this piece of shit outfit? ”

He was one of those guys that was never quite at the top, yet a mainstay in some great movies. 2 others that Jump out in my memory are “The Lords of Discipline”, & “U-571”. I suppose he’s luckier than most of us. His work rendered him immortal.

True Lies: “I’ve got a tiny dick, man! It’s pitiful!”
Aliens: “Oh yeah? Well, let’s put her in charge!”
Few could deliver those lines like Paxton.

He and Lance Henriksen were the only two actors that were killed by a Predator, an Alien, and a Terminator.

He could be crazy and wild like Aliens and Terminator, and subdued and understated, like Apollo 13 and Titanic. He was just terrific.

I read he was in Titanic. I kept wracking my brain to place his character on the ship! He was the oceanographer dude, who was talking to 87 year old Rose. Duh.

Yeah. It sucks. It came out of nowhere too. I hope he journeys well. At least he will live on in the movies I enjoyed.

Yes Aliens was THA SHIT.

I thought he was fabulous in Big Love. Sad to read he has passed.

I think his last words were based on the fearless spirit displayed by Private Hudson in Aliens: “I’m gonna be dead meat, man!” ;-o

All disrespect aside though, I agree with the above sentiments.

My brother, an actor and voice talent, just texted me a story I’d never heard:

Still reeling from the death of my old acquaintance, Bill Paxton. Decades ago I made friends with Bill who came in regularly to our dad’s camera store [in Fort Worth, TX]. I remember like it was yesterday the day he told me he was moving to LA “to try to get into the biz”.

A few years ago, while in Dallas for some appearance, he was interviewed on KERA radio. I called in and got to talk to him. He remembered (or said he did) telling me that.

Bill was always a nice guy, and good actor. RIP

^I’m not great at everything, but I’m an expert at reading people. Bill was incapable (in any role ) of hiding that he was a good hearted person. We lost another good man. Shame. But we will all follow him eventually.

I really liked him as an actor. 61 seems way too young to go.
