I steer away from romance stories, so the choice is limited. The first, and only, one that comes to mind is “Gone With The Wind”.

The Diana Gabaldon “Outlander series

Mein Kampf, that dirty fucker really loved himself…a lot!

I steer away from romance novels for the most part, too. But Clan of the Cave Bear comes to mind. But that’s not so much romance as ridiculously descriptive sex.
Gone with the Wind is good too.
Was there a love interest in the Dragon Rider’s of Pern series?

@Dutchess_III Deary me. Clan of the Cave Bear was about rape. There was nothing about love.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Not all of it was about rape. She was in love with Jondalar.

There were rape scenes in it, but that’s not what I was referring to.

Jondalar didn’t show up until the second book. In the first book, Alya was raped, became pregnant, and once she had her baby, was kicked out of the clan without her child.

I know. I read it. Yes, I know she was raped. Still not what I was referring to.

@Dutchess_III So you are referring to the second book, not The Clan of The Cave Bear?

The Clan of the Cave Bear series is what I should have said. She got a little nutsy with the sex in the following books, though didn’t she! Even Stephan King mentioned it once.

It’s called The Earth’s Children book series.

They were the subject of great hilarity between me and my teenaged daughters. It’s one of the few things we could come together on.
