Let’s hope so.

Maybe he is hoping for a presidential pardon. He is prepared to flip on everyone to get some time shaved off of his three years, or wherever, sentence.

Does this mean the net is closing around Trump?

Mueller has asked that Flynn not go to prison, because of his cooperation with the investigation. But the judge sure did not hold back.

[Judge] Sullivan sternly told Flynn his actions were abhorrent, noting that Flynn had also lied to senior White House officials, who in turn misled the public. The judge said he had read additional facts about Flynn’s behavior that have not been made public…

…“Arguably, you sold your country out,” Sullivan told Flynn. “I’m not hiding my disgust, my disdain for this criminal offense.’”

I hope so.

Hope he’s feeling the shame now. Genuine shame for desecrating his otherwise seemingly good military service for Uncle Sam. Hope he feels remorseful but I doubt it. His only regret maybe is that he got caught.

He deserves to see some jail time despite his cooperation with Mueller. He also deserves it for egging trump deplorables to shout “Lock her up!” That was wrong, that was un-American and he should get a taste of his own bitter and cruel medicine.

He should thank his lucky stars he was not accused of treason. It’s possible he had done more nefarious dealings with Russia but there is no way right now of knowing about it.

@Dutchess III I think that’s exactly what it means.

Wait—were Flynn’s exchanges with a foreign diplomat illegal? treasonous? I think many of you missed the point of what the judge said.

(he also said he has never accepted a guilty plea from someone who wasn’t guilty)

Flynn’s guilty plea would convict him of crimes of Treason (we are not at war with Russia or Turkey) Flynn has given up against the power of the Mueller investigation but needs to consider what a guilty plea would mean.

Comey, Strzok, and McCabe are Flynn’s original accusers/entrappers. All three have been since then fired by their own agencies (Comey by the president) for lying. Yet they’re free selling books and making millions on talk shows, and Flynn is facing prison time.

@yellowdog are you in Russia ? ? ? ?

Just asking for your Friend Flynn! !

I don’t think you have to be at war with a country in order to have certain information that is given to that country to be considered treasonous.

It’s like calling witch. These people have no shame. It’s truly unbelievable. No morals. No nothing.

I actually think he probably does care what people think of him. Maybe he will feel somewhat tortured. Have some self punishment even if there is no other punishment.

I hope Flynn is feeling ashamed and I hope Trump is starting to feel afraid.

I did notice the Reps rushed the new sentencing bill through in time for all the new convicts!

I saw that, too!

Flynn’s guilty plea would convict him of crimes of Treason

Ridiculous nonsense. His guilty plea is for lying to the FBI. That’s it. The prosecutors have not mentioned treason. Only the judge mentioned treason and said, “I’m not suggesting he committed treason.”

The “but, but it’s not treason!” you’re parroting from right-wing media is a weak transparent deflection from the actual crimes.

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Yellowdog Treason is probably an unreasonable accusation, but not by much. Beyond dispute is Flynn’s guilt of the crimes for which he was interrogated. The judge is apparently pissed that Flynn might avoid prison in view of the gravity of his behavior, and it’s difficult to fault him on that point of view.
