Being disabled, it would take me a while to bring my weapons out of the basement, but that done I’ll take out anybody I need to.

I guess the question leaves it up to you to determine what this invasion would look like. Personally, I believe it would include some sort of rounding up people they even suspected might cause trouble. They would probably have some sort of military police everywhere. But we would have to consider something else…what is the impact of this invasion on the rest of the world? Most likely, if our nation went down, most of the economies in the world would tank as well. So the funding and supplies to the invading forces would be spotty at best. That would be the place to focus attacks. Break up the ability to maneuver, communicate and resupply and we would be able to resist. But it might come down to having to live in the woods for awhile. Yeah, I could do that. And I’m a pretty decent shot as well.

^Nobody could fuck with the US, on a ground war. Our military is formidable. But, our population is as well… Going house, to house, a would be near impossible.

^They would have a hard time if they wanted to go house to house. But if they just burned people out instead of fighting with them? There are ways to eliminate resistance and subduing a population without really getting into endless fire-fights. Most urban centers, while they have a lot of people don’t have a lot of supplies sitting at hand. If they control the flow of food and water, many people would bow to them.

I think many, many, people wouldn’t even notice that they would be occupied.
It would happen so cunningly and so swift, and so violentless…

People usually fall into one of the two..fight or flight methods.
Fight until you can’t anymore and then flight.

Yeah, and you see a gun show. The line of hundreds of people walking out with weapons, and ammo. After Sandy Hook, my store couldn’t keep ARs, or M4s, or anything similar in stock. We probably sold 80 a week, for 4 months.

Some of us may have already felt the SHTF. Just sayin’

My point is that American civilians, have military style weapons. LOTS of them. A 2.23cal/5.56mm round, is a NATO round.
With all those weapons floating around, there could be no land invasion. @seawulf575 has a point. We could be nuked, or something. But , NO country, could go door to door. They’d suffer a crazy amount of casualties. I could probably kill/injure, at least 3–5 enemy occupants. That’s just one guy, in one house. If you look at the numbers, that starts adding up fast. If I saw it coming, I’d take my weapons, and such, into the swamp. I’d be far more effective there. I might could take out way more. Remember that the British tried to find the Swamp Fox, in Hell Hole Swamp? That’s where I fish… That’s my back yard son. Alligator infested, and tricky terrain. That’s where I would go.

An invading enemy, doesn’t ususually want to destroy where they’re invading. Their best bet, would be chemical /biological weapons. I bet you I could hunker down, in the swamp, with a gas mask (yep, I have one,) and I’d probably die, eventually, but not after taking out a bunch of them. That’s just me. Losing 20 soldiers per each southerners, would add up.

And they’d have to go through the Pacific Ocean, Arctic Circle, or otherwise, just to get here… Canada, probably couldn’t fend them off. But , they would put up a fight.

I just don’t see how a foreign invasion, could work.

So no one is going to bother with an actual invasion of this place. The Russians, the largest nation on the planet with the regrettably tiny economy the likes of Italy—the Russians have it figured out that invasion is unnecessary. They count on the current reality of “Big but Stupid” then work assiduously to insure that the edifice destroys itself from within. In view of this tragically accurate assessment, I was watching news footage of a circle of world diplomats at a NATO summit reception caught unawares yukking it up over our fool’s humiliating embarrassment of his own diplomatic corps through his mob style “muscle threat” speech. So I ask again —did Putin get his money’s worth?
