Have you been screwed over as a consumer?

Well? I ask because I think I’m about to get screwed by Setanta. Can’t be bothered to tell the story right now,but it’s keeping me awake. Nothing major, I just worry about everything.

So, your stories. What happened? How did you try to resolve it? Successful?

Also, are you British? I get the impression that us brits take it up the arse from big companies far too easily.

If its that important to you I would not take any crap from a company that was getting my money. You don’t have to be a jerk about it, but if you talk to the right person Im sure you can work it out.

WOW! My girlfriend and I got two #2 combos from Taco Bell this evening at the drive thru. Thats a burrito, nachos, nacho cheese, and a drink for each combo. I got home and had both burritos and nacho cheese but no nachos. The only time I didn’t check. Screw you Taco Hell!

Breyers ice cream used to come in half-gallon containers. Then they scaled down to 1.75 quarts. Now a container is 1.5 quarts. The price has never changed.

A few years ago, some clothes I took in for dry-cleaning all just up and disappeared! When I went to pick them up, the manager claimed that they “lost” the whole order! Gee, it couldn’t have been because they were high-end designer pieces (and some of 1960s vintage), could it?

I wrote the store’s head office to complain and CC’ed the city ombudsman. I got some money back, but it wasn’t even near half of what they were worth, even as vintage. To sue would’ve cleaned me out, so I didn’t bother, but I miss my Gaultier dress. :(
