Does anyone have the rest of the story?

Asked by Baloo72 (702points) February 28th, 2009

I thought I just heard on the news that Paul Harvey died (today?) at the age of 90, but I can’t seem to find anything about it on the internet. Does anyone have any information about this?

Wikipedia shows his death as of today, 28 February, 2009 but I cannot find a single source anywhere else to confirm this. Maybe it’s going to take a day or two to publish all the details of his passing.

@Bluefreedom I think it probably will take a couple of days. Thanks for finding that.

@Bluefreedom That is so weird.

I did a Google search and came up with nothing but @BonusQuestion is more industrious it seems. Kudos to him. :o)

CBS has the story now.

ABC just cut into regular programming about 15 minutes ago to make the announcement and to do a brief retrospective.

NO, I hate that. I really liked him.

And that… is the end of his story.

He was an oddly comforting presence in my life, I have to say. Like warm milk.

I will miss him.

My husband and I just read the news. We both enjoyed Paul Harvey and will miss him.

I’ll miss him too. :(

I never heard of the guy. Apparently I am in the minority. Was he national or regional?

And his face does not look familiar to me.

Seriously? I think he was national. He had a radio program for as long as I can remember. He always told an inspirational story and ended it with “and now the rest of the story” and it was usually someone famous that had came from hardship.

@gailcalled – He also had a very idiosyncratic way of speaking, with his beats in odd places. I know a number of comedians made fun of his style when I was a kid, Rich Little in particular.

I hated his politics but he was kind of fun to listen to.
I wonder if his last words were, “Good…Day.”

De nil nisi bonum mortuis, so I won’t say what I thought of him. Gail, you aren’t missing much.
