Do you use some sort of facial exfoliate? That can help, also there’s a blackhead/whitehead tool that you can get at the drugstore that allows you to remove them with pressure.

Use the device after a hot shower or hot compresses on nose to soften the material.

Those sticky things.

That blackhead device so doesn’t work on my nose. I don’t know why.
I wash my face with a homemade facial cleanser, and it has crushed almonds in it. It’s been getting rid of any blackheads I develop.

I use two Biore products for this.

1) Exfoliating blemish-fighting cloths. They not only exfoliate the top layer of skin to help get the blackheads out, but they also have Salicylic acid in them to prevent future ones from happening.

2) The Pore Strips really work. They just pop those things right out. Use them after the shower or after you’ve held your face over a kettle for awhile.

Oh, yeah, figbash. Forgot about the Biore pore strips. Those are fun! The tool works best if you have larger pores to begin with.

They’re great and there’s nothing more satisfying then pulling one of those off and seeing everything you were able to pull out. Very cathartic!

Steam your face, or your nose rather.. Then push em outtt. Get some blackhead cleanser too.

I use BufPuf scrubbing sponges on my face and have for 25 years. When I stopped because I read that they were bad for your skin, my blackheads on my nose got worse. So I went back to BufPuf, but switched from Regular to Gentle. (and I am often told how I look much younger than I am, so I believe they are safe).

I also use salicylic acid products to help clogged pores—I use Neutrogena cleansers and the pads for that.

BUFPUF…I just like that name..

salicylic acid toner and a non blackhead forming (I can’t remember the word) moisturiser over it. If you’re not using a good moisturiser you are allowing dust and stuff to get into your pores causing the blackheads to come back. Get a good facial and have them do extractions, then use the salicylic. it worked wonders for me from my teens to my 40’s.

I too have the same problem. Some advice I have for you is exfoliate you face, then run very hot water on a face cloth and put it over your face to open the pores (2–3 min should be plenty) next use a blackhead extractor(STERILE!) and gently but firmly push down on the blackhead until the gunk comes out, make sure to swab you face with some alcohol afterwards. You mention that you have excellent hygeine so maybe you probably are washing your face and stripping it of its natural oils too much and your skin is dry. If it is then you might be getting blackheads because the dry, dead skin is clogging your pores, making blackheads. You need to moisturize (oil free) to make sure these blackheads will stop forming. Hope this helps, btw wrote this all on a ipod touch, PROPS.

I used to have that problem until I had my nose chopped off.

I second biore strips. I don’t think my pores are particularly small, but just getting my face steamy and trying to push them out with my fingers or some kind of tool has never done anything but irritate my skin more. Biore strips hurt like hell, but they get the job done.

Anytime Judi, darling. ;)

No… the Boire strip doesn’t hurt like hell. The stuff it pulls out of my skin sure scare the hell out of me!

I think Michael Jackson had that problem and look how white HIS nose is now.
