Do the lengthening days raise your spirits?

I’ve had a bad winter and am so looking forward to being outside in my yard on a sunny day.

Absolutely! I eagerly await the time when I no longer have to ride my bike home from work in the dark!

kinda. then again i sometimes wish it was dark. like in say, march, when the days are a bit longer but its still NASTY outside, i’d rather it was just dark so i dont feel like such a slob lounging around and not wanting to be outside.

yes!!! and good for you :) longer days make it seem like there are more hours in the day… easier to get things done!

They do, but I must admit some warmish weather would help more. I still can’t get used to it being sunny and 5 degrees outside.

knitfroggy's avatar

Not really. I prefer winter.

@SuperMouse did you move from somewhere warm?

SuperMouse's avatar

Yes I did, I spent my entire life in Southern California!

Nothing depresses me as easily as driving to work, and then back home after work, with my headlights on. It gives me that feeling that the day is all for the company, and none for me. Those summer days when I don’t need headlights either way would be perfect if they weren’t so hot.

Yes. But I’ll get bored if I have nothing to do in these long long day….

Continuing to wake up every morning brightens my spirits. w00t!

(Being able to sleep before that happens makes it all the better.)

Definitely. In the winter, I leave for work in the morning when it’s dark and come home when it’s dark. When the days get longer, I actually see daylight. It makes me much happier and less bitchy.

Yes, I like the lengthening days of spring, but for some reason, early autumn is my favourite time of year. I“m guessing it’s a crunchy leaves thing.

Not as much as it seems to for other people. I actually like the earlier nights because, quite simply, I like night time. The days aren’t any shorter for me because it’s not like I go to bed earlier in the winter because it gets dark earlier. I still have the same amount of hours in the day it’s just that some of the hours are dark. That’s fine by me. Autumn and winter are my favourite times of year and (apart from snow which I hate!) I am even a fan of the, so called, miserable weather.
