Adult breastfeeding: would you consider it?

Asked by squidcake (2639points) March 10th, 2010

Adult breastfeeding or adult nursing relationships are when a woman’s partner drinks her breast milk when she is lactating.

I’ve read some articles, and people claim in makes their relationships a lot more intimate, and on top of that there’s a lot of health benefits. But others say it’s just plain “weird.”

What do you think, Flutherites?

When I was lactating, we didn’t really consider it but I wouldn’t mind – when I watch lactation porn, it does sometimes excite me.

Wow I feel like Ive been living under a rock all of a sudden lol

PETA once famously said that all ice-cream should be made of human breast milk instead of farm animal milk. I guess if it is PETA approved it must be good?

squidcake's avatar

@TILA_ABs_NoMore
Don’t worry, it’s still not a very common practice. :)

CMaz's avatar

Milk is not good for adults. Calcium is.

Sucking on a tit. Is another thing.

Steve_A's avatar

@TILA_ABs_NoMore Seriously….where have I been?? lol…

@ChazMaz
A quote from the article:

“Breast milk is, for the most part, completely sanitary, cannot spoil, is mostly hypoallergenic, full of nutrition and infection-fighting potential, packed with calories and good fats and proteins, and the list just goes on.

In fact, breast milk is so healthy and safe (provided the woman who nurses is healthy and disease free) that cancer patients have been given breast milk to help boost their immune system and help keep them healthy and to maintain their weight and nutrition during chemotherapy treatments.”

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@squidcake there is no reason any human should be consuming any mammalian milk past early childhood – all the benefits described apply to benefits for babies and just because someone out there gave it to their cancer patients doesn’t mean much.

wilma's avatar

No.
I spent many years lactating. I won’t say that my SO never got a taste, because he certainly did;
but that wasn’t a turn on for me and probably not him either.
My milk was for my baby. When I was lactating my breasts were, in my mind primarily for my baby, but…
when I was intimate with my husband, of course sometimes they would play a part in the intimacy.
So a squirt in the face now and then was not unheard of. Just remember to take a towel or cloth diaper to bed with you.

TILA_ABs_NoMore's avatar

Im gonna go to church now…I feel dirty lol :-D

CMaz's avatar

@squidcake – Your first half. I agree. For a baby.

You second half. Questionable. And, using cancer patients for example. Is like telling me the positive benefits of Chemotherapy.

Judi's avatar

my first husband loved it.

bunnygrl's avatar

There’s lactation porn? I’m sorry, I like to think I’m pretty much ok with most things but this is just wrong. Mother nature designed baby milk for babies. I feel like I’ve fallen through Alice’s looking glass and the world doesn’t make sense.
hugs everyone xx

squidcake's avatar

@ChazMaz
Well my question was more geared towards breastfeeding for erotic/intimate purposes anyways.

CMaz's avatar

Ok, a little off topic.

Did you know that some women take medication to lactate. Just because it is a turn on for some.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

I couldn’t care less about the idea.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@bunnygrl there most certainly is lactation porn…sadly some of the participants aren’t pregnant and aren’t post partum…they take hormones to make themselves lactate…kind of like the same thing we do to cows to make them stay in the state of constant lactation

wilma's avatar

@bunnygrl lactation porn is news to me too.
What the heck?

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@wilma maybe you’re watching the wrong porn cites…try redtube.com or tube8.com or youporn.com and search for lactation if you want

squidcake's avatar

Well you don’t have to be a new mommy or be taking hormones to lactate. Your breasts will start to lactate on their own in they’re given continuous stimulation, hence wet nurses.

wilma's avatar

Thanks anyway @Simone_De_Beauvoir , but I don’t really think I want to. :)
,

@squidcake wet nurses, were usually pregnant at one time. They either didn’t keep their own baby, nursed more than one baby simultaneously, or continued to nurse other womens children after their own were weaned.

bunnygrl's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir Really? I didn’t know they did that to cows either. That sounds awful. Thank you for your reply though <hugs> I feel a bit daft now though. Wonder how much stuff there is that I am clueless about? Probubly a whole world full lol <hugs>

@wilma I’m so glad that you thought like I did. I was feeling like a child who’s walked in on an adult discussion there for a mo :-)
hugglys xx

I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong with it, though it’s just not for me, sexually. If an adult paid me for my milk because he/she wanted or needed to drink human breast milk for some reason, sure, I’d consider the offer. But, I wouldn’t want to nurse an adult. It would be weird for me, personally. However, I do get the turn on and I think it’s a normal fetish. I know someone above mentioned that it was against nature, but I don’t think we always know what nature intended. If it was that off base, then breast feeding wouldn’t take place in a very sexual part of the body… you know, the breasts. I totally understand the intimacy of it, too. Even breast feeding an infant is a very intimate thing (non-sexual of course). It’s entrancing. The world falls away and you almost get a high from it. Like the best hug you can imagine.

CMaz's avatar

“Like the best hug”

Awwwww :-) I want a breast hug.

wilma's avatar

@ubersiren Yes, like you said very intimate and loving, but not sexual. “Like the best hug you can imagine”.

@ChazMaz They are nice aren’t they? ;)

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@bunnygrl to increase milk production, many cows are impregnated continuously and the dry periods between lactations are eliminated via genetic and hormonal modification..the milk industry spent a lot of money figuring out how to extend lactation periods for cows for our benefit…cows now produce much much more milk than they would to just feed their young

CMaz's avatar

And, if mankind was to disappear off the face of the earth today. All the dairy cows and most cows would die off quickly. Not having human intervention.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@ChazMaz is that supposed to be an argument for the atrocities committed against animals these days…that without the intervention we forced upon them, they now wouldn’t survive so let’s just keep our eyes closed and continue?!

CMaz's avatar

No, I find that way of doing things rather hinky myself.

It was more of a FYI. :-)

CMaz's avatar

I did a documentary on a cattle slaughter plant.

I use to like veal.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@ChazMaz yeah, it seems the more we learn the less we’re able to eat what we used to like…simply because it’s so maddening

CMaz's avatar

Boy, did this go off topic. Sorry @squidcake .

ucme's avatar

I’d feel like a right tit for stealing baba’s nectar.

Trillian's avatar

I’ve heard of it because I used to watch CSI. Not for me.

bunnygrl's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir OMG this is why I can’t look at meat :-( The nurse at the hospital told me off because I’m pretty badly aenemic (sp?) and she was asking me about my diet but I just can’t. All I see is dead animals. I do eat dairy though, like cheese and eggs.
Thank you for the link honey <hugs> xx

Yummy in the tummy!

Violet's avatar

My boyfriend says he is very excited to try this when I am lactating.

CMaz's avatar

Now THAT is another story.

When in Rome…

Lactating as in pregnant?

ratboy's avatar

Breastfeeders suck!

ucme's avatar

Breastfeeders live longer! Allegedly.

CMaz's avatar

I was breast fed. THAT explains everything!

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@ChazMaz as was I! so it doesn’t explain anything

davidbetterman's avatar

By the way, try a White Russian using breast milk…Oh My!

aprilsimnel's avatar

Some restaurateur here in NYC has started offering cheese made from his wife’s milk on the menu.

Trillian's avatar

@aprilsimnel Now I’ve heard everything.

DrasticDreamer's avatar

Personally I find it completely disgusting, and a tad creepy.

When a man gets near my boobs, whether it’s with his mouth or hands, I want it to seem like a man is enjoying them – not a baby. There’s nothing sexy about a man acting like a child near my ladies…

casheroo's avatar

Ask me when my nipples aren’t cracked and sore from breastfeeding lol

shf84's avatar

Not exactly my thing but I suppose if a woman I was with wanted it I would do it for her.
