Care to share with me a terrific diner you've been to in Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, California, or Nevada?

Asked by deni (23141points) June 13th, 2010

im beginning a month and a half long road trip wednesday. we’ll be all over california, wyoming, northern arizona, utah, and we’ll be going through nevada at some point so i figured i’d throw it in there too. anyhow, me and my boyfriend are both obsessed with diners but have had trouble looking up online where the good ones are. i figure, this is where fluther comes in.

by diner, i mean a one of a kind local place, preferrably with good food….you know…a diner! location is important too, if you can remember :)

Bob’s Big Boys is a pretty famous diner in Burbank, California. You might even see a celebrity there. :)
There’s a diner called City Diner in San Jose, California that’s pretty good as well.
Have fun on your trip!

Nickel Diner (as mentioned above) . . . I’ve never been there but I lived downtown LA for the past couple years and the line was always packed and long on the weekends. It’s also been featured on Food Network, and the hype is good.

BUT I’d say, if you had to go to only ONE in that area skip Nickel and go to
Original Pantry Cafe now I have been there and I LOVE it. It epitomizes what a diner should be, and it’s in a much nicer part of Downtown LA. It’s been open consistently (never closed down) since 1924, and it has that feel. OMG so good.

If you are in the Malibu, CA area, go up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) to Neptune’s Net

The drive to it is incredible and so is the food. So fresh and tasty. Great atmosphere, and different. Very famous diner to Angelenos and for good reason.

Good luck!
