Question about "talk and type" programs

Asked by jtvoar16 (2171points) March 17th, 2008 from iPhone

does anyone know if A) there are still “talk and type” programs and B) if they make any for mac. I used a program on Windows for near decade for all my writing but now I use a mac and don’ t like switching to windows just to type and I also don’t want to “teach” mac every word in the dictionary.

It has been built into mac for the past decade. Go to System Preferences > Accessibility, Speech.

try MacSpeech’s Dictate-it uses the Dragon Naturally Speaking engine and won Best of Shiw at the most recent MacWorld Conference. I just installed it on my MBP and am so far impressed at its speed and accuracy.
