In which movie would you have loved to have had the leading role?

Asked by ZEPHYRA (21750points) August 4th, 2010

Is there a movie in which you imagine yourself in the position of the leading actor/s? Can you picture yourself acting in such a movie?
What attracts you to that particular film?

Labyrinth.
I talk to inanimate objects quite often, so I’d have no issue talking to puppets all day.
Plus getting to work with Jim Henson, Bowie AND the cutest baby ever? That’d be amazing.

Star Wars is a close second.. but I’d have too hard of a time deciding who I’d want to be..

I would want to be part of The Labyrinth as well. It would be so much fun to ballroom dance with David Bowie. Also, it just seems like it would be so much fun to be a part of that in general. This is the only movie I have ever wished I could be a part of.

Pretty In Pink. I’d be Andie, of course.
Auntie Mame
Singin’ in the Rain, as Kathy Selden, just to pop out of a cake and learn the dance in this scene. And get to kiss Gene Kelly in his prime!

Laura(1944_film) in “Laura”. It’s a good mystery, the protagonist is a woman of independent means with a budding career, and she doesn’t have that many scenes (acting holds no appeal).

@aprilsimnel Mom took lessons from Gene Kelly when she was a young girl. Gad, was she good on the dance floor.

I’d play the guy in Requim for a Dream. and Rangerr since your already playing Jennifer Connely you can be my girlfriend in the movie too. I don’t think they do the “actor kissing” in that one tho.. you can kinda tell.

Memento or Reservoir Dogs. Both tough little movies. Both have decent people in difficult situations.

Marlon Brando – Mutiny on the Bounty (1962)
Cary Grant – His Girl Friday (1940)
Chevy Chase – Fletch (1985)

There are so many great movies that I wouldn’t want to spoil by becoming the lead actor. I have no experience acting, and I would definitely screw up any movie. But I have worked behind the scenes doing set design, set construction and lighting, as well as assistant stage manager (that last one was very brief though).
