Doggie spirits?? Have you ever felt or experienced it?

Asked by jazmina88 (11652points) August 16th, 2010

You know I had to put my sweet dog down last week.
2 nights ago, her best male pal came over to visit, and I could feel this blast of electricity run past my leg, so excited.
Then the next morning, my kitchen light started swaying. NEVER has that happend since I’ve been here in 5 and a half years, unless someone knocks their head into it. I was the only one home. Back door closed.
I dont even know what to think about this, but I know I am intuitive.
It’s a bit spooky, but I know it’s my dog.

A few years ago I had a cat that got sick with Leukemia and she had to unfortunately be put to sleep. Afterwards, sometimes at night it was almost like I felt her jump up on my bed. Could of been a kitty ghost? No, I think it was my brain playing tricks on me since I was so used to her jumping on my bed everynight. I was just morning the passing of my cat. Sorry for your lose.

That is sad for you to lose a friend like that. However every event has a rational explanation, and I highly doubt your dog has any traits of life left.

My beautiful dog died many years ago, but whenever I think of her, she is back here with me – not physically of course – but I can feel and remember all those happy times.
Nobody can take those memories away from you. They are totally yours.
Just remember those lovely moments you had together. She will always be a part of your life, smile and be happy for the times you shared. <3

I think you feel them nearby for quite awhile. I don’t know if it’s the spirit or just the fact they’ve been such a big part of your life for so long. I’d like to think the spirit stays on for some time, just to help us get over the loss.

I was in Mexico on a business trip. I had been in bed for a few minutes a was almost asleep. My bed started shaking and I told my dog to stay still because he was waking me up. I then realized that I was 2000 miles away from home and my bed was shaking because of an earthquake. That is the closest I’ve come to a “supernatural experience”.

By the way, I was in a bungalow type hotel room so I didn’t worry about the roof falling in and I went back to sleep, rocked by the earth, my first earthquake, pretty cool.

The fact that you were exited can be rationally be explained, it was probably a bodily reaction that had gone unnoticed before. generraly if you have a pet that long you develop a strong emotional connection. therefore you were exited due to the fact that normally he would be. the lamp thing ehh that i cant explain rationally

Yeah I know what its like. Don’t call me crazy but after one of the dogs passed on I heard the bell he used to wear on and off and could swear it sounded just like him. It happened a few times late at night too.I was wide awake also.

@hotgirl67 You are not crazy, it is just a simple auditory hallucination. You miss your dog, so you expect to hear his bell just like you would’ve when he was alive. The more you expect it, the more noise is introduced into your perceptual processes. Then when you hear something that would otherwise only remotely sound like a bell, the noise and the expectation make it sound identical to his bell.
