Open source software. Yeah, it’s kind of a lame thing, but well…

Oh, and I’m strongly against an opt-out scheme for organ donations.

I’m with uberbatman, but more than that I’m just against the entire War on Drugs.
It’s proven time and time again it’s completely useless, wasting money, and getting us nowhere. I just don’t understand why it still exists.

Regarding legalizing marijuana:
I just think it’s crazy that alcohol, which is legal, contributes to numerous deaths each year in the US, yet not one death has been linked to smoking pot. The government could raise tons of revenue as a result of legalizing pot, yet people who advocate legalization are looked upon like they’re nuts. We certainly live in a backwards world.

@generalspecific i agree, the whole war on drugs is bullshit and needs to be put to a stop immediately.

@raw the sad thing is its not even really illegal because of the drug, but rather all the other industries hemp would affect. Plus if the US government were to legalize marijuana they would have to say they were wrong all these years. Fat chance of that one happening

@uber
great points

Legalization of marijuana.
Education.
Equal rights for all.
The First Amendment.

I definately agree on the marijuana thing. It’s been proven that it helps cancer patients. They should let it be out there for the positive things it does.

Now here’s my BIG beef. All the money that’s sent to other countries for health & welfare. The commercials on TV that show kids starving. I KNOW that’s a huge problem. But there are homeless & hungry people right here in our country, our states, our cities. It pisses me off to no end! Let’s take care of our own first. We just can’t take care of the world. This issue gets me on my soapbox quicker than anything I can think of.

Recycling. I go to extremes to recycle.

For example…..I hauled stuff home from a vacation to throw away in our recyle bins (nothing available at the vacation site). Most recently, I just found someone to take two garbage bags full of bubble wrap that I have accumulated over the years and refuse to thrown in a landfill. A friend of a friend owns a gift shop. Oh happy day.

Treating non-human animals ethically. So many people are either unaware of or choose to ignore the atrocious mistreatment of factory-farmed animals. And it makes no sense to me when people say, “They’re just animals.” Should any sentient creature be subjected to inhumane treatment just because some people like to eat them?

Legalizing marijuana – and no, I don’t personally smoke it.

I don’t even know… I could probably go on forever. I have extremely strong opinions about almost everything.

This isn’t exactly a cause, in the usual meaning of the word. But still, the thing that is most similar to it for me is: Self-esteem, self-love, self-understanding.

Our well-being, our relationships, and our world is a better place when we love and appreciate ourselves.

Children, anything we can do to help them (whether it’s orphanages or runaway helplines or better education)

If I had a big building in a big city I’d turn it into a hotel for the homeless. I think life can be bad enough without having to worry about where you’re sleeping tonight and be in constant danger while you do. For me the ability to sleep safely is more important even than food.

Also the constitutionally guaranteed certainty that the death penalty will apply to anyone who calls themselves a “creationist”. And the abolition of it for everyone else, including the most sadistic serial killers.

Oh and the extermination of all pigeons, cockroaches and people who put cucumbers in hamburgers.

Oh and broccoli. I think there should be a death penalty for people who cook that in public. Or even mention the word. Oops that’s me.
