Is there a free program for this?

You download uTorrent and install it, and drag and drop the torrent file on the uTorrent icon. After that, you just let the download go.

I use a free program called Vuze to download and play torrents.

If you’re on a Mac, I recommend Transmission.

Second the vote for Transmission if you’re on a Mac. uTorrent is supposed to be the best for Windows, and they have a Mac version, but I still prefer Transmission.

Check these links for info on setting up Transmission for optimal speeds:

As others have said uTorrent for windows, Transmission for Mac and Linux are the best. You dont need to actually dl the torrent file if you dont want to though. Instead of downloading it, you can just set it “Open With” and pick your torrent client and it will just auto open in there and begin downloading.

Thanx, y’all. I’m off and running!

I just installed uTorrent last week on a Windows 7 box and it wanted to install a toolbar and change my default search engine to ask.com. Make sure you opt out of that shit when you install it.

On my Mac I use Transmission.
