Whats the best vacuum cleaner for dog hair?

I too have a German Shedder. I have the Dyson animal and it (with the Roomba running most days) seems to do the trick.

I have a stable of rescued Roombas that I’ve repaired and gotten functional. I love them. If you don’t have thick-pile carpets, and don’t mind tinkering a bit. they are wonderful. And very cheap- you can pick up a used one for $40 or less (I have one I got for free, and I only paid $10 for my best Roomba.)

I have hardwood floors, once around with a dust mop and it is good to go. No need for a vacuum cleaner. I do wax them.

I second @Kayak8 and @chyna—Dysons are magic for animal hair. They also offer a green machine (not eco-green, just color-green) that works wonders on pet-stained carpet.
