Are TSAs becoming increasingly churlish and condescending?

Asked by josie (30934points) November 7th, 2010

I recall my first encounter with TSAs at the airport. They were friendly, helpful and trying to be “customer friendly” while maintaining vigilant professionalism..
I think they were excited about their new found status as federal employees, the blue shirts with shoulder boards and a big eagle patch etc.
I think as time has passed, they have become like too many (not all! Easy everybody) government drones…indifferent and supercilious.
Am I right?
Or perhaps, have I been flying too much lately?

I think that quite possibly you’re right…judging by my personal experience. Flying is not fun anymore.

I can’t speak from personal experience, I haven’t flown since before 9/11. I am deliberately avoiding it, because this is all that I hear from people. I’m too high strung for that much security… I would probably get on the plane and have a stroke.

I don’t think it’s possible for them to be any more impolite than they already are, and still be human. But I have been wrong in the past, and I could be again.

I’ve noticed on every flight overseas that the return is always worse.
