What is your favorite choke and puke restaurant? Grade A or Grade B rating?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) December 3rd, 2010

A restaurant does not have to have a Grade A rating, in order to serve good food. I have eaten at many Grade B restaurants and the food was great. I didn’t look in the kitchen. I was afraid of what I might see. I have never noticed a Grade C rating in a restaurant. This is where I would draw the line. Question: have you ever eaten at a Grade B restaurant? If so, how was the food and did you enjoy it?

“I have never noticed a Grade C rating in a restaurant.”

At least in San Diego, restaurants that get a C must close until they can comply with regulations.

I’ve eaten at Grade B restaurants. I figure that they are apt to be cleaning up their act prety fast to get their A back and take that placard down :>)

I cant say I was ever really aware of the grade letter a restaurant had before going but I usually look for hole in the wall type places. I find they generally have the best food. Now do they rate grade A unno? but id suspect theyd be less on the super cleanliness than the fancy dancy places.

I think the Great Oz has a curtain in front of all restaurant kitchens. Pay no attention to what’s going on back there. It’s not going to be pretty.

My favorite local chicken joint has a B rating. I have yet to ever get sick from eating there; However, the KFC with a grade A has gotten me sick a couple of times.

I think people are a bit overly paranoid about the ratings. Most people’s home kitchens would fall into the B/C rating. How often do people clean out the back of their fridge?

Never heard of the ratings. I have eaten Chinese take-out from some pretty funky places and lived to tell the tale.

@john65pennington, Put your imagination at rest. A grade B rated restaurant can be something like having a bottle of cleaning solution sitting out, or restaurant staff eating or drinking something while in the kitchen area. A friend was written up because the cleaning solution for the floor was under the sink, instead of in the store room.
