Does Danzig remind anybody else of Jim Morrison (The Doors) and Alice Cooper?

Alice cooper maybe…. maybe. Jim Morrison though, not so much.

I think he reminds of Jim because of that deep voice. It is like poetiv like Jim used to be. Idk though, everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Either way, I love Danzig and the oter two.

I would say his singing reminds me of Jim Morrison and Elvis Pressly.

He reminds me of Elvis from Hell.

Now that I have checked out @uberbatman‘s link… His voice sounds like he is trying to channel Jim Morrison. Alice Cooper, not so much.

@TrkReznor Wow! I’d never heard of him till I read your question. That guy is in good shape for a 55 year old punk rocker. I shall have to investigate him further.
Meanwhile, I wonder if you are aware of this Morrison/Hendrix song? Maybe your band could perform it. Very early Punk or what?

@lloydbird yeah Danzig is the orignal singer/creator of the Misfits and hell yeah he is in good shape. Just bought his newest album completing my collection of every recording of anything he has ever done.

No…..Neither one at all. Cooper is/was a shock rocker. Morrison more along the lines of a poet.

No he does not remind me of Elvis or Morrison. What is the matter withe these people?? You watch how he performs he’s into giving to his audience 100%. the other two guys never even came close to the power that Danzig puts out. Watch and study him. A sub atomic nuclear blast on every show. Nobody else comes close.

I love Danzig and I’ve been a Misfits fan since I was 10, but I have to say, that while he has devoted fans, he will probably never attain the widespread fanatical levels of fandom that Elvis or Morrison obtained.

And have you seriously compared Danzig’s voice to Elvis’s? Both are serious crooners with deep, bellowing voices. Elvis is among Danzig’s biggest inspirations (as well as the inspiration for just about every other psychobilly band in existence) and Danzig has an obvious early rock/doo-wop tinge in a lot of his music that is definitely deliberate.

Hell yes he does. He sounds like a cross between Jim Morrison, Elvis Presley and Ian Atsbury from the Cult. Good observation. :) I am a big fan of Danzig’s, especially when he was in the Misfits. :)
